A regular sleep-wake cycle is a modern luxury and what most of us daydream about. With our hectic lifestyle, a massive amount of caffeine in our blood stream and a constant fight or flight mode, maintaining a healthy sleep pattern becomes a real challenge. But a good night’s rest is crucial and when counting sheep doesn’t work, how about a healthy, cannabis infused ,comforting night time snack to help you wind down and fuel your body with good nutrients?

These breadsticks are made with cannabis infused flour and they are served with a delicious yogurt dip with a drop of melatonin and lots of herbs to aid digestion, along with the probiotics to help you fall asleep fast and wake up feeling refreshed and ready to seize the day!

Crispy on the outside with a wonderfully chewy centre, easy to make and perfect for meal planning at the beginning of each week, these will become your favourite, natural way to relax before bedtime!

How to make cannabis flour:

Remove any stems or seeds from the marijuana buds and allow the buds to dry thoroughly. You will need them as dry as possible to form a powder.

Use a food processor or a coffee grinder to make a fine powder that resembles flour.

 Keep blending and grinding until everything is pulverized. Use a wire strainer or flower sifter over a bowl to separate the ground and unground parts and regrind the unground parts until you are left with a fine powder.

TIP: Make sure to store the powder in a proper air tight container as the potency will be degraded by oxidation if not stored properly. Vacuum sealing will work great as well. Try to use it the same day or within 24 hours, or tore in a freezer for long term storage. You can use that powder as flour for a portion of your recipe’s requirement for most of your baked goods. A 10% substitution is recommended but you can replace up to ¼ (25%) of the flour the recipes calls for with your cannabis flour. To ensure a good consistent dose, remember to sift the regular flour and cannabis flour together, before using in your recipe to blend the two together.

Snooze Chews Breadsticks

Serves 4


2 cups whole-wheat flour

¼ cup cannabis flour

½ tsp baking powder

½tsp baking soda

½ tsp brown sugar

2 eggs

½ cup yogurt

½ cup olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste


Line a baking tray with paper and set aside. Pre-heat the oven to 340°.

In a large mixing bowl shift together the two flours with the baking soda and baking powder. Add the sugar and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well.

Make a hole in the middle of the bowl and crack the eggs, whisk in the yogurt and oil and fold in all the ingredients to create an elastic dough.

Use your hands to shape the dough into strips or lightly flour your kitchen counter and shape the dough into a square. Then cut the dough into strips. Roll each strip with your fingertips and place on the baking tray. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the outside.


You can sprinkle them with sesame seeds, parmesan or herbs. Coarse salt is another option.  Avoid adding too many intense or hot spices that will aid indigestion.

Herb Infused Melatonin Yogurt Dip

Melatonin is our body’s indicator of bedtime.

It’s a hormone found naturally in the body that helps you know when it’s time to sleep and wake up. Normally, your body makes more melatonin at night but with our work schedule changes, traveling and blue light from our screens, our sleep cycle is disturbed and a dietary melatonin supplement comes to the rescue.

In general, a dose between 0.2 and 5 mg is considered a safe starting point but since we already added cannabis to our breadsticks we’ll stick to the minimum dose for this recipe.

Yogurt Dip



1 cup plain, low fat yogurt (Greek yogurt would work really well for this recipe as it’s creamy and light at the same time)

1 tbsp. chopped dill

1 tbsp. chopped parsley

1 tsp chopped thyme

1 tsp mustard

A drop of liquid melatonin supplement (0.2 to 0.3 mg)

Salt and pepper to taste.


Mix all the ingredients together and season to taste. It’s a great way to use up all the left over herbs you have in your fridge so feel free to add or retract ingredients according to your needs. Think seasonal and frugal! This is a fail-proof dip so it will turn out amazing!
